Participation

Participation is free of charge. Please register online before 3 June 2016.

 

Working Languages

The working languages of the Conference will be English, French and Russian. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in these languages. Headphones will be distributed at the entrance of the conference hall and should be returned at the end of each session.

 

Dates 

The International Conference on “Integrated Quality Management in Tourism Destinations: A key to Competitiveness” jointly organized by the Government of Romania duly represented by the National Authority for Tourism Romania and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), will be held on Thursday, June  23rd 2016.

  • The Opening Session and the sessions 1 to 3 will take plase on Thursday 23 June in the Palace of the Parliament, Nicolae Iorga Hall, from 9:00 – 18:15;
  • The Technical Conclusions and the Closing Session will be held on Thursday 23 June, in the Palace of the Parliament, Nicolae Iorga Hall from 18:30 – 19:00 

Participants are requested to wear their identification badges throughout the Conference sessions in the area reserved for the event. All participants are requested to collect their badges at the registration desks. Access to the areas set aside for the Conference will be restricted exclusively to participants wearing identification badges. Badges will be obtained at the Registration Desk at the Palace of the Paliament where the Conference will take place and will be open from 14:00 to19:00 on 22 June and from 8:30 to 9:00 on 23 June.

Transport

  • National Authority for Tourism will facilitate hotel/venue/hotel transfers (hotels listed below)

Please kindly note that UNWTO is not responsible for accommodation arrangements. Participants are requested to make their reservations by directly contacting the hotels in the list below. To benefit from the special rates negotiated by the hosts in Bucharest please refer to our list of partner hotels below.

Practical Information 

Visa

In order to check whether, depending on their personal circumstances, participants are subject to the Romanian short-stay visa requirement, the following link should be accessed: http://evisa.mae.ro/ShortStayVisa (the list of states the nationals of which are required to obtain a short-stay visa in order to travel to Romania).

-        Applying for a Romanian entry visas: Given the purpose of the trip, it is recommended that participants in the event who are required to obtain a Romanian entry visa, apply for short-stay visas for cultural, scientific and humanitarian activities, as well as short-term medical treatment or any other activities that do not breach Romanian laws. This type of visa is identified by the C/ZA symbol and is issued to third-country nationals who wish to travel to Romania, provided that their presence on the territory of Romania is justified. Please note that the use of the eVisa portal does not exempt visa applicants to personally present themselves at the competent Diplomatic Mission or Consular Post. Please note that entry visas cannot be issued on arrival at any Romanian border-crossing point (land, air, maritime).

Participants are requested to bring with them to the Conference the documents sent in advance, as only a limited number of documents will be available on the spot.

A provisional list of participants, based on the replies to invitations, will be included in the welcome pack provided to delegates upon their registration.

Climate

The climate is mostly mild and temperate and typically Mediterranean. Winters are cool, cloudy and wet, summers are hot, clear and dry. In Bucharest, the temperature in June is around 25-30 degrees.
