Dates and venue

The Workshop will take place at the “Palacio Lezama”, in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 26 September 2017.

Online registration, access and badges

For participation, it is required to register online through the website of the workshop before 4 September 2017.

Access to the Workshop will be confined exclusively to participants and accompanying persons wearing an identification badge. The identification badges for the workshop will be issued at the Registration Desk to those that have duly registered online, which will be set up the same day of the workshop at the entrance of the venue. Please kindly bring your registration confirmation (e-mail) and the ID/Passport to pick your identification badge at the registration desk.

Working languages and documents

Materials prepared for the workshop will be translated into English and Spanish. Simultaneous interpretation during the workshop will also be provided in both languages. Most of the presentation papers for the conference will be uploaded on the related website as soon as they are available.

Entry fomalities

Visa Requirements: Those participants who might need to apply for a visa to enter Argentina can find more information on www.migraciones.gov.ar 

The Embassy or the Visa Application Center normally request the following documents from the applicant:

  • 1. Invitation letter issued by the local authority: This letter can be provided by the organizers upon the request of the participant.
  • 2. Hotel Confirmation: This letter can be provided once the reservation at the hotel has successfully been made and upon the request of the applicant.
  • 3. Flight tickets: The issued e-tickets are mandatory to apply for the visa.

Accomodation

Participants attending the event may benefit from discount rates at selected hotels. All hotels were selected for their location and services. In order to benefit from the rates provided below it is recommended to make the reservation before 22 August 2017.
 
Participants are kindly asked to contact the hotel directly to make a reservation. They will be required to indicate that they participate in the Workshop organized jointly with the Tourism Entity of Buenos Aires and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The participants will be responsible for their own accommodation. For the full list of hotel options please refer to the information note.

Please check with your hotel if courtesy shuttle services are being offered. No transfer between the venue and the will be provided by the host organization.

Practical Information

Weather in Tianjin: Buenos Aires is enjoyable at all times. The average annual temperature is 18º C (64 F), with July being the coldest month with days from 0º to 12º C (32 to 53 F) and January the warmest month with temperatures ranging from 20º to over 30º C (68 A 86 F). The estimated temperature for the last week of September is 18 ° / 12 °.

Time Zone: The official Argentine time (HOA) is UTC-3 throughout the year.

Dress Code: Business attire is the official dress code during the workshop. Dress code for evening social functions, unless otherwise specified within the programme, is smart casual attire. It is also recommended for delegates to bring along light clothes.

Official Language: The official language of Argentina is Spanish

Electricity: In Argentina the voltage used is 220/240 V. The sockets are Tipe C: Valid for pins E and y.

Transport

  • Bus: They are buses or urban buses. More than 180 lines across the enitre city.
  • Airports: 
    • Metropolitan Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (BUE), to this airport are arriving the coastal flights and bordering countries.
    • Av. Costanera Rafael Obligado Palermo. Ezeiza Airport Ministro Pistarini (EZE). Airport for international flights.
  • Subway: The subway or metro is the fastest and easiest way to get around the city. The service operates from Monday to Saturday from 5 am to 11 pm and on Sundays and holidays from 8 am to 10 pm.
  • Train: In th Retiro station, line Miter you can take the train destination Tigre, which in one hour takes you to a river and island destinations.
  • Taxis: Taxis are characterized by their black and yellow color. They can be taken directly on the street or ordered by phone (radiotaxi).
The best way to move around is by bying a SUBE, a card that is required to travel by train, buses and subways. It can be purchased at the subway stations, tourist assistance centers or at various sale points in the city.
 
The ArBus service links the Metropolitan Aeroparque Jorge Newbery with the Ezeiza Airport and neuralgic centers of the city of Buenos Aires, www.arbus.com.ar
